Frequently Asked Questions

behind the scenes

Are your services covered by private health insurance

Your private health insurance usually pays for a portion of your treatment fees, leaving you with a reduced out of pocket gap.

Health funds do vary with the rebate payable.

You can immediately claim your treatment via our Hicaps System. Our treatments are claimable via Hicaps for some but not all funds, please check with your fund.

What’s the easiest way to Book an appointment

By using our online booking system, you’ll then receive an email confirming your appointment and if for any reason you need to manage/cancel your appointment you can follow the link in the email or call the clinic.

Is there parking available?

Yes, we’re located outside East Richmond train station and the car park directly in front of the clinic is free parking. Street parking is available on church st too. Weekends we have 3 reserved car park spaces under the clinic.

I’m not sure who to see, can you help me?

Yes, if you feel lost or unsure you can give use a call and we can have a chat (free of charge) and see if we are indeed the right people to help. If we aren’t we’d be happy to refer you towards the right direction. This is apart of our service guarantee.

When shouldn’t I have a treatment

You should not have a massage if you are unwell, experiencing a fever, have a cold or infectious skin condition. If you are under the effects of alcohol or drugs your therapist will not provide treatment.

Is massage always appropriate

No, there are several medical conditions that would make massage inappropriate. Your therapist will conduct a full medical history and thorough examination and if its unsafe to proceed (very rare) and will refer you to the correct practitioner.

What will happen during my first appointment

To begin with, your therapist will ask you a series of questions about your medical history, previous injuries and your current symptoms. The therapist will gather as much information as possible and then perform an assessment and then determine the best course of treatment.

Will it hurt?

No, you are in complete control at all times. Your therapist will respond either to your verbal or non verbal language and tailor a treatment plan for your specific needs.

Is your online booking system working?

Haha! Yes! In over 5 years of using the same online system we’ve never had it go wrong. If you can’t find a booking it’s likely that your therapist is booked out for the week. We suggest if you can’t find anything online to give us a quick call to confirm (or organise a wait list) but otherwise to book in advance.

How frequently do you recommend treatments?

It’s not a one size fits all answer. Generally the more you train, stress you’re under, how acute or chronic the issues are will all play a role in the recommendation of frequency and number of treatments. It’s important to remember that we’re all individuals and respond differently.

What Do I wear?

Comfortable clothing. For a full body oil massage most people will undress down to their underwear. All therapists are trained in proper draping techniques to ensure your privacy is 100% respected at all times.

Can I train before or After my treatment

Yes, we prefer you train prior but after is also an option! If you did have any temporary soreness following the release work you could avoid training that body part directly for 24-48 hours. You’re completely fine to train anything else though.
